Here is the new IP I am sure all of you have been waiting for! It is about 90% set up, and I don't believe it will need any more restarts to get everything functioning correctly. HLStatsX is not yet enabled on it, and I wont be enabling it until the server box is closed down, which will be the 8th of this month.

208.100.45.115:27015 <-- That is the current IP. I would love for you guys to play on it and see how it works out, it should switch maps like the two servers already do when they reset. Everything should be exactly the same, let's hope it works out correctly!

Also, HLStatsX is now only enabled on Egypt and Dustbowl. This is because HLStatsX charges daily approximate .2 Euros right now, meaning .1 Euros per server. Before it was charging .7 Euro/Day because we had several servers set up. So canceling early means less money spent over time, which is a good thing.

So if any of you guys pay attention to the TF2 blog you may have recognized me as an honorable mention for "Catchphrase Borrowing" in the TF2 propaganda contest. Not too shabby to be one of the ~60 or so recognized out of about 11k entries.

Also rest assured, I'm playing other games at the moment - but I always return to TF2 to get killed by Milber. Thanks TCO!

EDIT: The prize is an item in TF2, but they just requested by community ID and steam is down; so I imagine I won't find out what it is specifically for another day or so. I'll be sure to harass you guys about it in-game once I get it.

Also, the email came from Eric Smith and was CC'd to Robin Walker, and it asked if I had any questions - so I asked what Robin smells like.

EDITII: Eric replied saying that it probably wouldn't be done until Monday, and completely neglected Robin Walker's smell.

Update: Crap! I just realised servers (that are decent) are running $1.99/per slot! That mean's instead of $24.. it'd be $48! Well that just makes me sad Nothing I can do about it though.. To be short, it's impossible to keep up with a thread as large as the last one that I wrote. I have taken a few of the ideas from the first few pages and summed it up to this.

Instead of have a plentiful bounty of servers, we will be dropped to ONE, yes ONE 24 slot server. At least in the beginning of this "phase". The 2Fort server will NOT be included, it wasn't in our original plan, it was mainly something to get a few more people to come to the forums because when we first started the 2fort server, 2fort Instant Spawn was super popular.. okay great, I ranted. AGAIN:

• ONE 24 Slot Server - $24 (Approximately)
  • Dustbowl and Egypt Rotation
  • Almost stock Spawn times, so what we have already (slightly shorter than stock)
• HLStatsX for one server - $7 (Approximately, they charge in Euros)
• Ventrilo Server for 20 Slots, Not Changing This - $8
• Web Host - $15

Okay! So if you add that up, you get $44. Monthly! I think that is a lot less than ~$250 monthly, don't you?! It should be a good start, and it might be the final thing we will be doing.

Throughout the week I will be removing HLStatsX accounts, meaning servers wont be running HLStatsX anymore. And on the first of February I will pay the first bill and begin setting up the new server. When the new server is ready to go I will set up a redirection to the new one from the old ones if I can.

Don't worry everyone, this will be a good thing! Right now we have about $15 in PayPal, so if anybody wants to help out this month, that'd be great. I just got a badass car repair bill at $1,065.43 - any help to The Couch's PayPal is awesome

Guys, I think The Couch's servers are pretty much dead.

Sorry about this, but I don't think I will be continuing the use of our great servers. It's nearly impossible to pay for, and, to be frank, I have lost interest in Team Fortress 2 almost entirely.

I know I haven't updated the site, or even been on the forums much recently. I have been working on my blog just about non stop.

I'm being a crappy leader, a crapper owner, and all of that. I havn't updated the "recently donated" area on the homepage in quite some time, and frankly, there hasn't been THAT many to add. Looking at The Couch's PayPal, I see a total of 6 donations this month, and it really wasn't anything very substation.



That pretty much sums it up. We have $13.11 in our PayPal account right now, and on the 8th, we owe $200 to SingleHop to pay for the servers that are just about always empty. I don't think it's worth it anymore.

There was a time where I wanted to expand far and wide, but TF2 is slowly dieing out, getting just about 10,000 people a day at any given time playing the game, down from almost 20,000 at any given time about a year ago today.

It is getting boring.

I am really really pleased with everything that everybody has been doing this entire time I have been gone, the website has been basically running itself, and everyone who has pitched in and threw a ban up every now and then is amazing for doing so. You are all great people, but you deserve a leader to actually follow, not someone such as myself.

I am not looking for pity here, I am not asking for any "Thank you's" or "You are doing fine!"'s, I just want to let everyone know that I am 90% sure that I am going to be shutting down the Couch's server come February, I may purchase one server from a hosting company, just to keep the group alive. Possibly rotating between Dustbowl/Egypt, but keeping up 6 servers, 100% empty Left4Dead servers, and 4 idle servers, just doesn't seem worth the $200 anymore.

If you guys can try to change my mind, great, give it a shot, but the total server costs is $250 a month, and that is something that I can absolutely not put up on my own.

I'll definitely keep the website up, it's a great place, and it is getting around 150-200 unique visits a day, which is fantastic, but it used to push almost 300 unique hits a day. You can see my concern.

I love The Couch, I love what it became, but pardon my cliche, all good things must come to an end.

I will always love all of you, thank you, for everything. Really.
