Alrighty, we got ourselves an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) channel setup! Incase you all don't know what IRC is.. it is, well, basically, a chat room. We can get together in there, talk it up and such. I am trying to promote it everywhere I can, and I am trying to get as many people as possible. So far only Pinko, Raz, and Bad Coupon are in there. it is nice to have as many people as possible in the channel, even if you aren't at your computer. People call that type of thing "idling" and a channel is deemed "popular" if it has a lot of idlers in it.

Our IRC is hosted on the GameSurge network, it isn't all that difficult to setup. I believe they have a pretty in-depth guide on how to set it up. Our channel is #thecouch.

We also have a JavaChat setup, and just fill in your username and login, and it shouldn't be a problem at all. Tell me how everything goes, if you have any problems, just let me know!


Second business would be Ventrilo! Ya, I have had a ventrilo server for several months but I never released it to the public, now that my subscription is starting to run out, I have finally decided to release it to everyone, it will be moderated, and if you get banned then I don't think you will be allowed back in. We have a simple hierarchy in there, and only a few slots since I didn't think this was going to be public, so for now we have 10 open guest slots and 5 reserved slots. The reserved slots are for the people who have been in the Vent for a long time, and sorry donors, you're in-game slot doesnt mean shit here

Okay, well here's the skinny. The whole day yesterday Bobus was complaining, saying that the competition wasn't fair because he plays spy a lot and spies don't defend the capture point. Well, since he was being such a complete loser yesterday I decided that he should win the first competition! He gets two weeks FREE reserved slot!

Yep. Well, that's kinda the story. The truth is I totally owned the competition, and defended the cap 32 times. So as I said in my original post, whoever captures the most points then would be the actual winner, so I guess Bobus must've gotten 10 spy caps or something, but he luckily wins! He also won a bunch of other awards for yesterday, so I guess it is kinda deserved.. Congratulations Bobus! Raz will get you set up because I am currently on bed-rest, due to my damn knee.

Alright, I added a shoutbox on the bottom of EVERY page. You will always be in touch with your buds! I was debating on putting on the top, buttom, or left side of the main page, but I figured if it was on the top it was in the way too often, on the side it didnt fit right, so on the bottom seemed to be the best place to put it. Basically, if you scroll down there and look at the "Daily Awards" section, you will see a "Capture's Blocked" line. As I write this it looks like Spazzdude is the winner, Spazzdude»»» (9 captures blocked).

Whoever's name is there on that Sunday, will get a FREE two week reserved slot between Monday the 4th and Monday the 18th.

Incase a Couch Member, gets the Captures Blocked award for that day, I will bump it down to the person who captures the most points. If that is taken.. well.. I'll figure something out then, let's hope it doesn't get down to that **Donator's will get an extra 2 weeks added onto their current time**

The server has been slowly dieing. I think.

I have been going on vacations and been busy out the wa-zoo this past month or so, and since then the server has brought an epic Native-American tear to my eye. I see now that it did not fill up or come near to filling up once today. Not exactly sure what is going on, nobody really tells me anything. The one thinig I did notice was a thread posted quite some time ago saying that the server lagged on team switch because of that death thing that happened, not sure what that was about, and honestly, I still don't know if it is fixed. I updated everything and anything that could be updated, cleared out old logs, everything, just to try to fix that, and possibly fix the server lag. Someone wanna tell me if that fixed it? I did the update two days ago.

Lately there has been talks of how much the server costs monthly and such. I will be making a big receipt giving you all exact prices of ho wmuch everything costs, and where I rent from, just so you know what you all are donating for, because I for one sure as hell know I hate being left in the dark. I can tell you right now that the server itself is the bulk of it, costing around $72. The others are in-the-dark because those are all on autopay, and I am writing this as quickly as possible so I can't really pull up the ohter numbers, I will though. It shouldn't take much time.

I am currently in New York, and I honestly don't feel comfortable doing any work on the server until I get back into my own pad, have my own setup, etc etc.

I hope this clears up some loose ends you all are probably quietly crying about in the night. PLEASE contact me somehow, and let me know what is going on. If you don't feel comfortable posting in the forums you are ALL more than welcome to send me a PM, please do NOT be afraid. I may have my name on this place, but really you all own it, it is mainly you're money making this place amazing, so I thank you all deeply for that.

Lastly, I want you all to know that I am glad I started this place, it's fun and everyone who plays gets along, its awesome. But you all have to keep ti filled! It's the only way we are going to get more regulars who we all enjoy. We need to meet and greet more people, and make them stay! So if you see the server is empty, or struggling, fill it up! After it fills up I don't care what you do, you can leave as soon as it hits 19, 20, 21, whatever. Thank you all, I love you all.
